SITRANS LU150 7ML5201 is a short-range integrated ultrasonic level transmitter. This general purpose, 2-wire, 4 to 20 mA loop powered transmitter is ideal for liquids, slurries, and bulk materials in open or closed vessels to 5 m (16.4 ft).  It combines advanced ultrasonic technology with user-friendly design and robust construction to provide accurate and continuous level monitoring of liquids and solids in various storage vessels and process tanks.

Application

The transducer is available in PVDF copolymer, making the device suitable for use in a wide variety of applications.

Installing and maintaining SITRANS LU150 is easy. You can quickly remove it for cleaning, as the food, beverage, and pharmaceutical industries require.

The reliability of the level data is based on the Sonic Intelligence echo processing algorithms. A filter discriminates between the true echo and false echoes from acoustic or electrical noises and agitator blades in motion. A temperature - compensation mechanism adjusts the ultrasonic pulse propagation time to the material and back. Then, a conversion process turns this time into distance for display and analog output.

Working Principle

This device operates based on the principle of ultrasonic echo detection. The SITRANS Probe LU150 actively sends high - frequency ultrasonic pulses toward the surface of the material it's measuring. These pulses travel through the air above the medium, and the surface reflects them back when they reach it. By measuring the time it takes for the ultrasonic pulses to travel from the transmitter to the surface and back, the device calculates the distance between the probe and the material surface, and then determines the level of the liquid or solid within the container.
