Measurement Principle

• It operates based on the time-of-flight principle of radar waves. The transmitter emits high-frequency radar pulses towards the surface of the medium in the tank or vessel. These pulses travel through the air or vapor space above the medium and are reflected back by the surface. By precisely measuring the time it takes for the pulses to travel to the surface and back, the distance between the transmitter and the medium surface can be calculated. Then, based on the known height of the tank or vessel, the level of the medium can be determined accurately.
