Application
SITRANS LR150 is a W band FMCW radar level transmitter, with a chemically resistant PVDF sensor, for years of trouble-free, reliable measurement service.
4 to 20 mA loop powered with HART, providing accurate level measurement to ranges of 15 m (49.2 ft). Measurement is possible, non-intrusively, through plastic vessel tops for easy installation. Programming is convenient using the Bluetooth connection and SITRANS mobile IQ application on your smart device or locally with an optional HMI.
It functions based on the well-established radar technology. The device emits high-frequency microwave signals and directs them towards the surface of the liquid or solid material in a tank, silo, or other storage vessels. These signals travel through the intervening medium, usually air or vapor. When they hit the material surface, they bounce back to the SITRANS LR150. The device uses the time-of-flight principle to precisely measure the time the signals take to travel the round trip, and then accurately calculates the distance between itself and the surface of the substance being measured. Incorporating the known installation height and other relevant parameters, it then determines the exact level of the material.
