Application
SITRANS LVL100 is a compact level switch engineered for industrial use across all aspects of process technology. You can use it to detect materials in liquids and slurries. With an insertion length of merely 40 mm (1.57 inch), you can mount SITRANS LVL100 in small pipes and applications with limited space. The chemical and physical properties of the liquid hardly affect it. You can employ the LVL100 in challenging conditions such as turbulence, air bubbles, foam generation, buildup, or external vibration.
A piezoelectric mechanism energizes the tuning fork, causing it to vibrate at a mechanical resonance frequency of around 1,200 Hz. When the medium covers the tuning fork, its vibration frequency changes. The integrated oscillator detects this change and converts it into a switching command. The integrated electronics evaluate the level signal and output a switching signal to connected devices.
